We had our first visitor, Brayden, stay with us and took him to Disney to experience the magic for the first time for the last day of his visit in FL. We did two parks in one day and I think we gave him sensory overload.

We started the day in Magic Kingdom so he could see where the magic started. It wasn’t too crowded so we were able to ride Big Thunder Mountain, see the parade, ride Haunted Mansion, climb to the Swiss Family Treehouse, laugh through the show at the Monster’s Inc Laugh Floor, listen to the birds and flowers in the Enchanted Tiki Room, laugh through the Jungle Cruise, sing along in the It’s a Small World boat ride, shoot invaders in Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, ride the Pirates of the Caribbean boat ride, ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and almost got to ride Space Mountain (it shut down due to an issue 5 minutes after we got in line). All before 4pm! Feeling quite accomplished, we headed on over to Epcot.

It was supposed to rain that night, so we weren’t sure if the new fireworks show was going to happen or not. We did get to enjoy the new Remy’s Ratatouiile Adventure ride in France, which was just as fun as when I rode it when I was in Paris. We enjoyed crepes for dinner and dessert in France and demolished them – so good!

Germany still had their Christmas decorations up, so we got to have a little bit more of a taste of Christmas. Greg and Brayden wanted to show off their German heritage with a photo memory.

As you can see on the ground, it rained off and on (more on than off). The nighttime show did happen, but they had created it to just be a laser and water show during inclement weather. It rained the whole time, so I watched the corner of the show from the cover of Elsa and Anna’s meeting place. We stopped and got the beloved School Bread, then called it a night.
The next morning, we took Brayden to the airport and went to Disney Springs for some light shopping before going back to Epcot. With the reservation system at Disney, annual passholders still have to make “reservations” for the park, or come after 2pm. We made dinner reservations at the sushi place in Japan since we had never eaten there. I must say, that was the best sushi I’ve had since I was in Tokyo! Delicious!! I had to have the tuna appetizer and then we just kept ordering Nigiri rolls until we felt content. We sat at the sushi bar-top so we could watch them work, but it wasn’t a great view. However, once the food started coming out, I was thoroughly entranced by our spread. Yum!!

We were able to see the full fireworks show, Luminous, and it was definitely different from their inclement weather show. Incredible!! We also made a quick walk-through of the new Moana exhibit since we had seen it during the day, and wanted to see the difference at night. I liked the day-time better, I think.

Overall, it was another great visit to Disney, where we got to be grown children for a while. Can’t wait to return!
